Elected Officials Fighting to Protect Middle Class Endorse Kevin Morrison

CHICAGO - Today, Democratic candidate Kevin B. Morrison, who is running against the Illinois Republican Party Chair, 15th district Cook County Commissioner Tim Schneider, received the full support of the elected officials that represent the 15th district, which includes, State Senators Cristina Castro and Laura Murphy, State Representatives Anna Moeller, Michelle Mussman, and Marty Moylan, and Hanover Park Clerk Eira Corral Sepulveda.

Morrison would make history as the youngest and first openly LGBTQ person to serve on the Cook County Board. The Schneider-Trump-Rauner machine has consistently voted against the interests of women, families, and children to side with special interests and the wealthy one percent. As an absentee commissioner, Schneider has failed the constituents of the 15th district by missing over a quarter of his scheduled meetings and only sponsoring four ordinances while every other commissioner serving a full term has sponsored at least twice as many. When the opportunity to protect families and women came up, Schneider cast a “no” vote against protecting our families’ public safety and funding the criminal justice system.

“I am beyond honored to receive the support of these outstanding public servants,” said Kevin B. Morrison. “Their trust in my candidacy means a lot. As a full-time commissioner, I look forward to working with them to implement policies that will protect women and our families from the Republican’s agenda that only embraces policies that hurt our middle class and rewards the wealthy one percent.”
