Hundreds of Supporters Join Kevin B. Morrison At Schaumburg Labor Day Parade

WHAT: Over one hundred supporters will join Kevin B. Morrison at Schaumburg’s annual Labor Day parade.

Cook County Commissioner Schneider, a key ally of Governor Bruce Rauner, is in full support of “Right to Work” and is one of the most anti-union officials in Illinois voting against wage increases for nurses and cost of living adjustments. Coming from a union family, Kevin knows that when our state’s unions are protected, we see the expansion of worker’s rights and fair wages. Kevin is a staunch believer that women deserve equal pay for equal work, and in supporting pro-labor candidates, we will see the expansion of women’s rights in the workforce and equal wages will become a reality.

Kevin B. Morrison, a progressive Democrat who is running against the Illinois Republican Party Chair, 15th District Cook County Commissioner Tim Schneider, will make history as the first openly LGBTQ person to serve on the Cook County Board if elected. The Schneider-Trump-Rauner Republican Party machine has consistently voted against the interests of women, families, and children to side with special interests and the wealthy 1%. As an absentee Commissioner, Schneider has failed the constituents of the 15th district by missing over a quarter of his scheduled meetings, and only sponsoring four ordinances, while every other Commissioner serving a full term have sponsored at least twice as many. When the opportunity to protect families and women came up, Schneider cast a “no” vote against protecting our families’ public safety and funding the criminal justice system.
